Kenya Build 2009
The building project in 2009 will take place at Cheryls Childrens Rescue Centre and another orphanage yet to be decided.
At Cheryls it will be phase three of the re-building programme which will involve the building of a new dining room/recreation hall at the centre. At present the children either eat outside or in their dormitory. A new classroom (bringing the total number of new classrooms to seven)will also be built. On completion of phase 3 Cheryls will have been totally re-built.
In the next couple of months I will be visiting Nairobi to visit a number of orphanages to carry out an assessment of their needs and to decide which one is in most need of help. This work will then also be carried out as part of the 2009 programme.
As usual the 2009 programme will commence in February with the work being carried out with local labour and funded by Kenya Build. The volunteers will arrive in late June to do their bit before handing back to local labour for completion.
